Yes. Stewards can override any auto-applied classification and document their reasoning in the version history. An override scoped to one hospital or trust doesn't affect other Genesis customers, but overrides flagged as community-relevant feed back into the Weight of Evidence framework for future matches. Automation handles most of the work, but not every coding decision can be automated, especially for unusual items or new device categories.

Non-file orders get classified too. Genesis applies the same coding logic at the moment of requisition, surfacing UNSPSC, GTIN, and billing codes where they're available, so non-file purchases are just as usable downstream as file items.
